Headaches are one of the most common health problems among people and nearly every one among us has experienced a headache.   5. Nitrate containing foods
  6. Chocolates
  7. Essential oils

Some of the essential oils such as lavender oil are known to relieve migraine pain. Lavender oil can help with the acute management of migraine pain. Apart from lavender oil, eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint oils can also relieve migraine pain.

2.    Acupressure

Acupressure techniques can help to relieve migraine pain as well as chronic headaches. In this therapy, manual pressure is applied using fingertips instead of needles. This is a centuries-old method that is used to alleviate pain by activating the self-healing mechanism of our body. For migraine relief, the LI-4 pressure point is utilized that is located between the index finger and base of our thumb.

3.    Try some herbs

Some herbs including feverfew are known to prevent migraines. The aromatic herbs have components in them that react similarly to the hormones present in our bodies. The herb not only prevents migraines but can also help to relieve headache symptoms and frequency.

4.    Yoga might help you!

Other than medications, a natural way to fight migraines is practicing some yoga. This ancient technique combines several breathing and posture techniques. The method doesn’t have any side effects and can easily help to manage the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks. Some of the yoga poses that can help to relieve migraine are;

  1. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog Pose)
  2. Hastapadasana (Standing Forward Bend)
  3. Marjariasana (Cat Stretch)
  4. Shishuasana (Child Pose)
  5. Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose)
  6. Paschimottanasana (Two-legged Forward Bend)
  7. Padmasana (Lotus Pose)
  8. Savasana (Corpse Pose)

5.    Try ginger

Among all the food effective against migraine, ginger is one of the most effective ones. You can use ginger oil and massage it into your forehead, neck back and temples to get rid of headaches. Apart from migraines, ginger is also known to ease nausea that can be due to migraines.

6.    Biofeedback therapy

Other than yoga, biofeedback therapy is another body relaxing technique. This mind-body involvement technique helps to have better control over involuntary body activities. This allows you to have better control over stress and blood flow etc. Biofeedback therapy can help you reduce the frequency and severity of migraines particularly the ones triggered by stress and muscle tension.

7.    Try magnesium

Among all possible reasons, nutrition deficiency is one important cause of nutrient deficiency. Adding magnesium to your diet can help to relieve menstrual related-migraine. You can combat magnesium deficiency either through diet or dietary supplements. Some of the magnesium-rich foods are oatmeal, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, eggs, etc.
